Jewish Center Commemorates Mumbai Attack Victims

Last year a tragic incident happened in Mumbai, India. Pakistani militants brutally attacked the city and targeted a Jewish Center among other sites. The center has now reopened to pay tribute to the victims.

Content：This Jewish center in western Mumbai became a war zone when it was stormed by Pakistan-based militants in November last year. Nariman House was kept closed since the fierce gun battle of November 29th.

Orthodox Jews and residents lit memorial candles at the center, one of the many sites targeted during the three-day rampage.

Rabbi Gabriel Holtzberg and his wife Rivka, who ran the center, were killed in the attack.

"We vow that their (the couple) passing will not be in vain. The candle might have been extinguished but their flame keeps on flickering and would continue to glow brighter and brighter."

Their two-year-old baby son Moshe survived the attack. His nanny rushed him to safety while militants roamed the Jewish centre where the family lived and worked. Baby Moshe now lives in Israel with his grandparents.

The city of Mumbai held memorials to the 166 victims of the attacks. The militants raided from luxury hotels to the city's biggest railway station.
