Tony Scott has an impressive pedigree, shepherding the likes of Billie Holiday and Bill Evans, and organizing sessions with Coleman Hawkins and all the greats. What he's doing here is a bit wacked out and not a little manic (he's playing the tune an octave above where it lays--sort of Diz and Bird out of hell). He was a mystic, but here's he's behaving more like a typical Westerner big shot. It's the worst I've heard him, but you can't say you can't hear him.

I was 18 yrs old..and You and Romano Mussolini played in Sardinia...Yes sir I was the bass player that opened the show with Chessa.....After the tour We jammed..and You said To me...Kid..You've got it!! keep on slappin' that bass..You gat some heavy balls!!...
