Hi Dave, I'm that guy from Keycorp! (14:10) :) I remember that day when I first met you and was very impressed with how much you knew about electronics. I've been following you for the last few years and it's great to see you sharing all that knowledge! Thanks for taking us down the memory lane, my start in electronics was almost identical to yours, and I still have the same magazines you show, and even had the 200-in-one. I got started with the 160-in-one in the wooden box.

Brilliant. Probably your best non-technical non-rant (or rant-lite) tech blog. Good on ya!

Dave obviously hasn't seen this yet or I'm sure he would have replied.

All my knowledge is self taught, because of this I am proud, to anyone who doubts my electronics ability I ask this question. How much of your electronics knowledge is self taught?

My school stopped teaching it when I went there, when they did that I vowed to teach myself, to this day I am still learning.

The internet is the best resource one could ask for, the physical shops don't exist any more, but they live on in the web.
