Hi Dave, I'm that guy from Keycorp! (14:10) :) I remember that day when I first met you and was very impressed with how much you knew about electronics. I've been following you for the last few years and it's great to see you sharing all that knowledge! Thanks for taking us down the memory lane, my start in electronics was almost identical to yours, and I still have the same magazines you show, and even had the 200-in-one. I got started with the 160-in-one in the wooden box.

hi dave, I am electronic student in the middle east [qatar] and i have been working with electronics for three years what i would say that in qatar were are not allowed to buy any chemicals or even import them and we are not allaowed to import any electronoc parts so it's so hard here to work with electronic all people here work in prefbaords and i made my own pcb from vinegar etching it s ver y hard here good luck

looks like the front is where microsoft got their idea for the old school late 90's microsoft office helper character. they definately still have new versions of those at radioshack, i was a manager there for a while, they are great.

All my knowledge is self taught, because of this I am proud, to anyone who doubts my electronics ability I ask this question. How much of your electronics knowledge is self taught?
My school stopped teaching it when I went there, when they did that I vowed to teach myself, to this day I am still learning.
The internet is the best resource one could ask for, the physical shops don't exist any more, but they live on in the web.
