How to Become a Well-Dressed Rebel in 30 Days

Formalwear doesn't have to be a stodgy affair. Just check out Dao-Yi Chow, designer of the label Public School, who today shows you how he rocks a tailored suit jacket, crisp white dress shirt, and black bow tie—with jeans and sneakers. "It's formal from the waist up and nontraditional from the waist down," he says. "It's the perfect balance between luxe and edge."

  • How the fuck is the top half classic? The suit is 2 buttons (instead of one), it has notched lapels instead of peak, and the lapel doesn't appear to be satin. Plus...the shirt doesn't have studs. AND THERES NO WAISTCOAT OR CUMMERBUND..

  • the shirt is a mess.

    bowtie+tux NEEDS a tux-shirt, with hidden buttons!

the guy looks like a fool....

  • yea im 18 i dont care for the tuxedo and then jeans and sneakers. I like the crisp old school look. Like the the really clean style. Like i can do a dress shirt jeans and some dress shoes but im black so SHOES ARE IMPORTANT lol

  • Bafoonery. This is garbage. Even teenagers know that this is stupid

  • I'm sorry. Actually I'm not. This is tacky.

  • These clowns should be shot for this shit. GQ rules is gonna get you laughed at and not taken seriously. Can you imagine being in the elevator going to an event next to a guy in a real tux with this on? JEANS? Seriously?

  • All men watching this nonsense owe it to themselves to discover why the classic Black Tie look (with dinner jacket/tuxedo) isn't even remotely connected with "Coco the Clown". I suspect the vast majority already do :)

  • He thinks the bowtie is, - " old school "

    But jeans, really. and sneakers?

  • All i wear is boot cuts and it looks great in any combo.
