Replace guitar strings frequently to prevent the buildup of oil and residue, which can affect the sound of the guitar. Leave the low and high strings on a guitar when restringing to keep the neck of the guitar from bending with tips from a musician in this free video on instruments.

  • Um, yeah this guy is bogus. Strings sound best when properly broken in, usually after a day or two of playing, particularly electric guitar strings. 1-2 months or when you break a string replace ALL the strings (unless you break it within a week of strings being new.)
