is a canned tune like a closed loop map on my sportbikes?? i hopefully will have my 2011 GT 5.0 6spd soon!!! also im in NYC area whos a good tuner ? this is my first round with 4WHEEL MUSCLE ive always owned a GM and love Vettes nd Camaros but the 5.0 is killer nd best bang for the buck.....rite now atleast cant wait!

@gixxanyc A canned tune is a tune that the intake manufacturer supplies with the handheld device(SCT/Diablosport, etc.) and have optimized it for maximum hp gain while being safe under all driving styles/conditions. I know Steeda has improved their canned tunes from when I had mine dynoed, so going with their intake/tuner combo should give you close to 400whp! you're right, the new 5.0 is hard to beat dollar per dollar! as far as a tuner in NYC area, try teamjdm.com

Most people say that! one thing to consider is that they tuned it with a canned tune from Steeda that was on the safer, richer side, and it was done with 91 octane. The tuner was locked also, and for the magazine article purposes, a custom tune was not done.I'm sure with a leaner tune and higher octane gas, it would have kissed the 400whp mark!

The car now has a Kenne Bell 2.8LC Twinscrew and made 555whp on 91 octane, the current 5.0 magazine has the build up, check it out.

@MakesSens thank you! it has a Steeda Cold Air Intake, SCT tuner with a regular canned tune and Pypes mid muffler exhaust from the stock H back.

I think you should of been alittle higher. Was that a steeda tune? I got my CAI and steeda tune and got 388 to the wheels. A friend suggested I get another tune from blow by racing, he said steeda's tune are a bit low. I did and got 399 to the wheels and the car is way more responsive I LOVE IT!
