  • I just wish jack would work with mozilla but whatever. Qjackctl and the low latency kernel rule! Music on Linux is my life...

  • @chuckwestband: I just started playing with "Rakarack" It's a great program for adding effects and distortions.

  • i like the idea of jackbeat but honestly i haven't used it much... i think it would be good for triggering longer wav samples to incorporate into your set, rather than using it for midi drum programming.... but then i wonder if that is even possible...if you have a sequencer going(seq24,rosegarden) routed to different jack apps, zynaddsubfx, hydrogen, how would your sequencer talk to jackbeat? probably need an external midi device to trigger jackbeat?

  • @sonictwin: I don't think jackbeat excepts midi input, at lest not when I made this video. They have added a lot of features to jackbeat since I made this video. I've been using hydrogen more then jackbeat. both Jackbeat and hydrogen will keep in sync by using Jackd (if you have both running and you press play in one they will both start playing and keep time with each other). Unfortunately rosegarden wouldn't keep time with them. Hopefully Ardour3 will be done and we can use Midi in it.

  • @metalx1000 Do you have to use your mouse? Can you use your computer keyboard? Sucky workflow if you can't do that. Might as well use hydrogen and jack to a sequencer to record live...
