On June 25th at Folsom Lake, CA, I went down to test out some kayaks with the Penguin Paddlers (the Penguin Paddlers from Rocklin). The kayak I tested out in this video was an Eddyline Fathom IV (15.5 ft., 47 lbs., 21inch beam, 300 lb cap., fast!), I couldn't get off of it for 45 minutes to test out anything else, because I didn't want to get off of it! It's a blast to paddle, so fun and agile, did I mention fast?! And down any of the incoming boat wakes heading for shore, I 'surfed' down the wakes effortlessly and quickly, then went back out into the wakes again. The kayak slices through the wakes like butter. On flat water compared to my 10.5 foot Equinox or the 17 foot Necky (The boat I raced in in Eppies Great race and got first, with my team), this kayak seemes like it could outpace anything on the water, the quick sprints I'm guessing (It would be more accurate with at GPS) took me to maybe about 6-6.5 knots, like I said, it was fast! In case if anyone is intrested in this kayak, check out www.eddyline.com, you may find something else just as good! This kayak goes for $2669 (brand new). So when I've got enough money saved up, I'm going to buy it! But hey, the video, enjoy! Oh, and the group I was paddling with is the Penguin Paddlers.
