Alfred Joyce Kilmer's Trees: A Video Companion

The tree itself inspired me to make this video. I figured the best way to honor such a beautiful tree was to utilize the famous Kilmer poem. Edited using Final Cut Pro 6 on a 15'' Macbook Pro. Shot with a Canon Vixia HV 40 on DV Tape. Filmed at Pine Manor College. The vocal performance was recorded and altered using Garageband. The voice is supposed to represent a hypothetical synthetic human of the future. I am very interested in the relationship between naturally formed life and synthesized copies. For instance, is the fake flower any less beautiful than the real one? The speaker believes that natural things are superior to synthesized things.
