    Thanks for showing the underside of this building; do you know why it took so long to construct?

    Do you think it ws due to coruption or other political things?

    Or was it private finance constraints ...is it a public owned building?

  • I believe that the reason why it took so long to build this museum was money. The land where it's built was donated by an old Sao Paulo family, who also bequeathed the "Belvedere" of Trianon, which was supposed to remain forever in the history of the city and could never be destroyed. In that case, the land would return to the owners. That explains a lot of the architecture.
