Large Dumerils Boa-Esmeralda

This is Esmeralda my female Dumeril's Ground Boa. She was my first snake. She is just shy of 6 years old. This video is a fun mixture of video and still shots accompanied by music from Aida that is just her, my little Diva.

@honda30369 This is quite common. Dumerils tend to be nervous snakes and are reluctant to eat as youngsters. Even as an adult my large female will only eat if no one is in the room. I feed her xxx large rats Frozen thawed from Rodentpro. Try a F/T prey item of appropiate size. I feed mine in a tote and leave the two alone until she eats.

@ honda30369 i have experience with dumerils, dumeril boas are ambush predators. put enough substrate in its enclosure for it to fully submerge itself. It will then bury itself with only part of its head sticking out, use live rodents, the rodent will walk by and the dumeril boa will strike and eat, its their nature and works everytime, be there in case the rodent attacks of course. dumerils are very docile and for a boa they dont get too big, they are one of my top 3 favorite boas. Awesome too

Aww this makes me miss my dumeril boa, i had to give her to my dad for a while and he live far away, so lol im getting her back in a couple days, i my dad helped me pay for her till i was able to feed ehr agian, i have two ball pythons a dumeril boa, and hopefully a bermeis python :D
