  • I knew Alan back in the early eighties. I worked at Pantheon (Recording Studios in Phoenix)) as a session player and singer where Alan worked as well. I really enjoyed hearing Alan show off his chops in this piece. Thanks

  • Can you post some of your work with Allan? I remember

recording a song called 'Cyclone Racer' which was an

Allan Z composition there in 81'. In fact Steve Smith came into listen toit. Oh, Vic Sorrenson sang harmony and played bass.

  • No! Dr. Allan Zavod is alive and well, still composing fantastic music (concerto, etc), and still playing phenomenal jazz piano. You can see him live.. just search YouTube for "Allan Zavod", and look for the video: Improv Jazz Piano Solo

  • Both Jean Luc Ponty & Frank Zappa hired Allan to play keyboards. He was a phenomenal talent, but I believe, sadly, he passed away some time ago.

  • Hey Mark: Did we lose Allen? Fantastic player. John Keyboard Scottsdale

  • Hi Bill,

I just mentioned that I worked there when Allan did. We may have played two different keyboard parts on the "London Gold" jingle. He played piano on that one - me, maybe, the synth. Pantheon was a jingle mill in those days.We would just bounce from studio A to to Studio B and back to the office and then into each other... recording parts as we went along.... So it's sometimes hard to remember all the stuff I did back then.

  • that was the life of Allan Zavod? great keyboardist.

  • Thanks for posting this Mark!

    Bill Chase, Guitar

  • this is pretty cool
