Although it could be better video quality I like this episode of the 5th Doctor. I would like this episode completed so I can finish watching it.

Earthshock is the best colour cybermen story, in billions of ways.

@flares Adric and Gan were regulars in sci-fi shows, and both get bumped off Adrics demise is for me more tragic than Gans demise. Gans demsie was not as well remembered as Adrics demsie and Adric getting bumped off has had a biggerimpact on me than Gans demsie.

@rojblake82 Why do you keep comparing Adrics death to Gans death. You keep writing messages comparing the two. Why?. This has got nothing to do with Blake's 7.

@flares I guess I thought this story did kill off, a lot of people including Adric who stayed behind on the spaceship trying to defuse the Cybermen's bomb and he ends up dead when the Spaceship blows up. I think Adrc's death is vastly more poignant, than Gan's death in Pressure Point for Blake's seven. Adric was a teenage lad, whereas Gan was agrown up man and Gan could take care of himself in ways Adric could not.

@rojblake82 Why do you want it to be less violent. Earthshock has always been my favourite Cyberman story precisely BECAUSE it's a very serious story and because the music is quite eerie. I don't want the Cybermen to be silly and fun. The second half of the final episode just has you on the edge of your seat. In most Dr Who stories everything turns out ok but when he turned round to shake Adrics hand and said "Good luck Adric" that was the moment when I felt something's not right here.

I think the music in this story is, quite atmospheric and spooky in many ways.When I first saw this in 1982, it was my all time fave cyberstory until ten years later when I got to see Tomb of the Cybermen. I have to say Tomb is a much better story in many ways, and also more fun it is not as violent as Earthshock. I wish Earthshock had been, less violent and less depressing it was not a fun story by any means.

I have this DVD but it seems doesn't work on my NEW DVD player or the computer. And it is really sucks right now. But I am afraid to get a new one.
