Rescuers in Texas are searching for more people who may have been trapped by Hurricane Ike, which caused serious flooding and cut power to millions of homes near the Gulf of Mexico coast.
Emergency officials say at least 2,000 people have already been rescued and officials say there could be thousands more in the devastation.
Ike is blamed for the deaths of at least 32 people in nine states.
Meanwhile, President Bush [Monday, September 15th] warned that Americans will see increasing gas prices in the near future, because of problems caused by Ike. VOA's Robert Raffaele has more.
