Richie during workshop in Brazil, in 2004 at the EM&T.
He used his signature MIJ Fender Tele; Boss Tuner TU-2, Sobbat Drive Breaker DB-3, Boss Digital Delay DD-3 pedals (battery powered); and a Laney GH100 amplifier into a Mesa Boogie 4x12" cabinet. Spectraflex cables and Brahma beer.
This is fucking sick.

@tasdvl9 Yeah, I love Paul, but I always thought Kotzen had really good taste as well as technical talent

Richie is way more laid back in his playing. He plays so far back on the beat that he's barely on the beat. I think that's part of what makes it so damn smooth.
PG is the opposite. He plays on the front of the beat, to make it seem a little more fast-paced, and frantic.
Both are insane players, it's just a matter of taste, really.

Ya, we all know what Gilbert is made of. But we are here watching Richie for a reason...

Paul Gilbert is one of my idols but Richie's playing seems to flow better. Both guys shredded their asses off back in the day. Although I think Richie's playing back then was more appealing to me anyways. His legato is just unsurpassed in this genre of music.

What?
Dude considering the skills on display in your video's i think i'd shut up if i were you..
Secondly there are other styles of music besides metal & shredding...
Ritchie has obviously been through that phase of wanting to play as fast & technically as possible, & now he wants to play some music rather than just do tricks to impress people..
