Great Video! Serial Number #30 here. Cool to see the last SALTO doing some acro.
Looks like they did some improvement in the last ships as far as the panel goes.
I have not done much acro in this ship yet. Do you get buffeting on the tail during high G maneuvers? Most of my acro has been in a ASK-21 and I am trying to adapt to the SALTO.

Hi Daniel,
the rudder authority is quite alright, it´s the aileron effectiveness that´s causing headaches during advanced maneuvers...
Reason being: The Salto was designed as a low weight glider with decent aerobatic- AND soaring characteristics alike. At a given ´Va´, bigger ailerons and/or higher deflection angles would have required a more robust structure and thus a considerably higher weight.. :-/

I would say it lacks rudder., doesnt all gliders have problems with low speed roll rate?
I like the video, roll behind the towplane is impressive.

Initially, it takes a minimum of 140 km/h IAS, a momentary nose-up attitude and a tow position well above the tow plane. Nonetheless, you´ll find yourself in a position considerably BELOW the tow plane after completion of the half roll. If performed sleazy (=uncoordinated) to the slightest extend, the whole maneuver will be accompanied by a subsequent strong BANG emerging from the tightening tow rope. Be prepared to disconnect immediately! Needless to say that sufficient altitude is vital.

The salto IS a great AND affordable aircraft, however, it definetely lacks aileron authority and hence roll rate in its low speed regime.
Anyone knows how much is a SALTO H 101? I Googled it and cannot avoid remote controlled ones in the result :)

It solely depends on the condition of the aircraft and the equipment that´s coming along with it: Anything´s possible in between € 13.000,- (or less) up to and including the thirties...
