Mhmm. Thanks. I'll have to check out some of your stuff then ;p

I hear ya, respect for the response and I get what you're saying. Sometimes you can get away with using dissonant chords in the lower octaves to get a dirtier bass, or for dark pads etc. I like harmonic myself as I'm a progressive trance head.

Good point, I often find that some people make dissonant melodies because they don't actually know how to do harmony or don't know what it sounds like. Obviously if the artist intends to make it dissonant then its an artistic choice, and my comment is irrelevant. I personally prefer harmonics.

Can I just ask, with sytrus... how do u know how to mod it and stuff. Like what knobs to tweak. I have never really understood this. 'Gold Saw' for example sounds great but if you hit it on the piano roll, just one note, it echos and fades out. How would you stop this? It would be really cool if u could help me out man.

@AlpineViking91 The echoing and fading out is probably the delay. Just go to the FX panel, find the D1, D2 and D3 tabs, and turn off the enable if the button is lit up. For the Gold Saw, I think it also has a gating effect, so you have to go to either the filter volume envelopes or one of the OP panel volume envelopes and if they look like they're rectangular or triangular tooth-shaped, convert them to straight horizontal lines. A lot of time I figure this stuff out just through simple...

@AlpineViking91 No problem. :)

@AlpineViking91 ...trial and error. There are certain things you can do to tweak an instrument that usually has a desirable effect regardless of the instrument. For instance, on the FX panel when I turn up the order number, it gives the instrument a more "full" sound. If you're getting weird sounds and you want an instrument to sound more "normal" or graceful, look for any diagonal lines on the MOD X and MOD Y panels and experiment with them. First you might try converting them to horizontal.

hey dude how come when you record with hypercam it looks so good but when I record it looks bad? Can you tell me the settings or what you did to make it look like that? Thanks.

lol, I'm just using the default setting that comes with hypercam 2. I didn't have to do anything. If your computer is slow, it can cause problems, so you might want to use a smaller frame, but I checked your FL Studio video and looks just fine to me, so I don't know what the problem is.
Oh, and if you have Windows Movie Maker, publish the video in HD 720p.
