I'm US but in a strongly Catholic city, and I agree, when they get a hold on any community, they screw it up and then lock themselves in an ivory tower when the news starts to get out, are as noncommittal regarding victims as they can possibly be.
When someone in the hierarchy shows true promise in helping the victims and disciplining the guilty, they are isolated and shushed, closed out by Rome. Like Tom Doyle and now I guess Diarmuid Martin. Not to mention victims and their families.
