Trophy Mule Deer Archery Stalk

This Stalk was partially successful. the hunter released his arrow within range at the deer he had already wounded but his arrows unfortunately missed there mark. I am still hop full we will recover this great buck. runninghhunts.com

One more boring know-it-all comment.

The face on mule deer bucks have a more pronounced white mask on the snout area on up to near the the eyes.

The way it hops away, is also characteristic of mule deer.

This allows them to usually escape danger while leaving a confounding trail through brush and difficult terrain.

You can usually tell mule deer by it's bigger ears, black tails, and wider, more spread out antler rack, and the antlers branch differently than on a whitetail buck.

These deer are also most often larger than whitetails, depending on their locale.

Definitely a mule deer.
