@Goldendriger nah, after all Kishi already admited to not being good at protaying Heroines, it's not that he wants her to look weak, why would he want that? he is showing her kindness, which is really high up there, it's one of her cutest flaws, she really worries too much, about herself, about her comrades. but it's a good flaw, it makes her seem human. no matter how tough she is, no one is perfect, Sakura is a well done example of this. am I making sense? we can talk in a pm.

@fancynancypigs1 Yeah but when you have him get suprise attacked and disarm his attacker and almost kill her if someone hadvnt stopped it then it makes her look pathetic and weak willed.I doubt if she was in the war she would of survived since she's shown no killing instinct or even survival instinct,Zetsu survived as did everyone else she fought Even Naruto until the war had never killed then he stomped his way through the Zetsus.Just seems like Kishi wants Sakura to look weak.

@Goldendriger that sounds to...idk, like your sharing too much information, if you want to keep the people guessing, then she HAS to be vague.

when Karin got over Sasuke, her character was done at that point, he hasn't bothered mentioning her or anything..Sakura development with her feelings are far from over, so staying vague is the way to go. as for her fight with Sasuke, the power difference was too great, and Kishi was trying to make Sasuke more evil, so his actions fit.

@Goldendriger Or maybe that last part where Sasuke takes her Kunai you have Kakashi shout "Sakura!" Sasuke turns around sees her in Blur vision mode, disarms her and attacks then Naruto shows up. She doesnt look any less weak and it looks like she is more serious. Some slight things like that will soon add up to a big change in character and a total shift of perception of a character, you can make Kiba's Strength look like Pain's if you do a few tweaks and add a few bits of dialog

@fancynancypigs1 Yeah but he's been doing the manga for like 15 years, im sure he would of figured it out by now. I mean ive never wrote a successful book or series. But i can fix the problem with like 3 lines, without even needing new Artwork. During the war, you have Sakura think "Sasuke why did you- Nevermind, ive got bigger things to worry about people are depending on me, if i meet Sasuke, well ill cross that bridge when we come to it" (Continuing in a sec...)

@fancynancypigs1 but then I think Kishimoto is very clever, he fixes his mistakes really well, the whole mistake with not explaining what Sakura was feeling shows itself well in parallels..but that is a whole other topic..^_^;

@Goldendriger true, that could be because Kishimoto is still learning. this is his very first Manga after all, and he has stated before that he has no idea hoe to protray powerful women. the closest he comes to getting it right is with Tsunade, which I think he planned from the start to have Sakura become like her. much like Jiarya is like Naruto, and Orochimaru is like Sasuke. but the characters were shown much later in the series.

@fancynancypigs1 Nah the main difference i see is Sakura does what she's told, Sasuke and Naruto just do what they want. "Run from Zabuza" They fought. "Sakura, protect the cliant" She does, she stays put when told and stays down (Like in the Chunin Exam finals) But she seriously lacks good fights and more conditions to make herself less clingy to Sasuke, it seems if she's not in a fight she's moaping, takes like 5-6 panels to change that but noooo

yes I am a hardcore Sakura fan, mainly due to all the bashing she gets, I went out of my way to remember and mark down every moment where she was useful. the earlier the better. since MANY Sakura-bashers are under the opinion that she did nothing at all in part 1. but the fact is, dispite being very weak back then, she really DID do her part.

it's just underplayed. I look at it as part of her character development.
