Hurt Soul

This song is the culmination of ten years of pain, this is the result of choices made and promises broken. I sang this back at the beginning of the month, and gave myself some time to listen to it, and here it is. No doubt this will ruffle some feathers, but hey, who are we kidding, one of us has had the joy of being with the child, the other one was shut out, completely and intentionally shut out, but that won't last forever. This song is about what it feels like to know something precious has been torn from your life, this is what it feels like to live when you should have died, this is the rock and roll of the heart and soul. Sure I might be full of myself, but I'm also full of genuine emotion, this is what it feels like when your soul is hurt, when you are wounded by the circumstances of life. Think twice, and if you really believe you are in love, then listen to this tune and think again. Sorry if I'm coming across as bitter, but, it hurts to be the father of a teenager whose mother does everything she can to spite you and hurt you at every turn. Perhaps I'm overreacting or making it up for theatrical effect? It's music, it's a man playing an acoustic bass guitar and singing, it's because I have the courage to sing, and foolishness to share, and a hope that somehow someone will care.
