Malawi — the food crisis is adding to the misery of countries already crippled by other burdens like drought and HIV. Here people are turning to fish farming, not only for food and income but also as a way to cope with the challenges of HIV — in particular the orphans from AIDS. This video takes a look at WorldFish's work with partners to reduce poverty and hunger in Africa through fish farming.

WorldFish reduces poverty and hunger through fisheries and aquaculture. Visit www.worldfishcenter.org for more information.

  • I love how Ester said, "As the wife of the Chief,I, too, am a Chief. I have to lead my people by example"! What a noble woman! And she is only too right! She is a "Community Organizer" actually doing something to help her people. To eat, have quality foodstuffs, learn a skill, to reach out to the lowliest of the low - the AIDS Orphans.

I believe the world food crisis is NOT going to be solved by government, rather by entrepreneurs! These are entrepreneurs in poverty & they make a difference!
