Hi, I'm John Elway and when I'm not looking out for open receivers on the football field, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for terrorist activity.

Sound stupid? Check this out, it's the former Broncos quarterback narrating a video for The CELL (the center for empowered living and learning) which is dedicated to addressing what they feel is the most important global issue of our time--terrorism."

Speaking of terrorism the government is working on a completely new way of screening airline passengers

--and it's straight out of Minority Report.

FAST - or Future Attribute Screening Test - is a homeland security-funded project which uses sensors and cameras to measure the natural signals coming from your body like heart rate, breathing, eye movement, body temperature and fidgeting to determine whether you might have the desire or intent to do harm.

It's definitely an interesting concept, but it seems like a big invasion of privacy to me. We should probably just stick with what we're doing now--it's working, there hasn't been a single attack since 9/11.

Some people are always going to be nervous when they're getting on a plane--I know I am. How's a computer supposed to differentiate between different types of nervous energy?

And what if a "terrorist" masters control of their nerves and can slip by the system?

Now for a story on the real terrorists.

Remember when hundreds of days of emails from the Bush administration mysteriously went missing.

Well the Obama administration, after promising transparency on the campaign trail, seems to be trying to keep those emails under wraps.

Which can only mean one thing=there's some highly incriminating stuff on them.

We just don't understand why Obama's bending over backwards to defend the Bush cronies so much.

Yeah, you can't expect to turn the page without shedding light on all the evil that was done before you.
That brings us to our quote of the day:
"No, no, we are not satisfied. And we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream." - MLK Jr.

The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers played a one-game playoff last night after finishing the season tied for the division lead.

The game was an amazing back-and-forth affair that went 12 innings and ended in dramatic walk-off fashion.

It was the perfect way to end the regular season and simultaneously kick off the postseason.

Here's our predictions: I say the Cardinals and Yankees make it to the World Series with the Bronx Bombers taking the title for the first time since the year 2000

And I think the Twins and Cardinals will play in the Fall Classic with the Cardinals winning it all. That's our poll of the day: who do you think will win the world series?

Speaking of winning, our hero of the day's a guy who's a winner in the big 'ole game of life

Englishman Stuart Sharp had the most amazing thing happen to him after the tragedy of his son's death=he got an idea for a symphony.

After a divorce left him down, out and homeless for ten years, Sharp - who had no musical training - put together a symphony.

But it's not just any symphony--it's been called genius by music experts and has been played in the Royal Albert Hall.

'I did not know what the notes were and at times I doubted my sanity, especially as I am an atheist,' he said.
'But I came to understand that it was music for my son and I could see it on stage one day.'

Our Villains of the Day represent the other side of divine intervention--or lack thereof.

Dale and Leilani Neumann were sentenced to 6 months in prison and ten years of probation today for praying for their dying daughter instead of getting her medical attention for a treatable form of diabetes.
Shouldn't their sentence also include sterilization?

You're as cold as ice.

Well, thanks for watching The Daily Conversation.

  • what about 7/7 u idiots

  • Did 7/7 happen in the US? No. Watch it before you go throwing names around, son...

  • Well, as a Phillies fan myself the last 29 yrs, I hate to sound biased, but...... :-)

I would hope if the Phils don't make the World Series again, than I want it to be the Cards and Twins again. I absolutely do not want the Yankees trying to buy another World Series.

  • Agreed. I just picked 'em because they look uber-tough. Who do you like in the Phils-Dodgers series?

  • Oh, I like the Phils. It isn't even close LOL. I've been a die-hard Phillies fan for the last 30 yrs, and believe me, we don't make the post-season too often ( last years World Series Championship was only our 2nd in the 126 yrs of existence of our team. )

If Phillies don't win it all, then I'm pulling for the Angels since that is my dad's favorite team.

  • Nice. I can't cheer for the Dodgers because I'm a Padres fan and that's our rival so I'll be backing the Phils. I went to college in the OC so the Angels are my secondary team too.

  • I will always blame bush and blair for 9/11 and 7/09 if I remember rightly as we lost a fellow salopian from uk he was Graham Buckley whom was a talented musician whom was on the fateful Boston flight that hit twin towers and what did it achieve? nothing threatening the Taliban it was a no win situation for all concerned and tony blair just as stupid not learning from 9/11 clearly they both have blood on their hands in my opinion both very stupid men whom clearly played god in my opinion

  • You have two mutually exclusive statements in your vid...

"We should just stick with what we have been doing, no terrorist attacks since 9/11"

"Bush's e-mails must be incriminating, lets out them."

You think national security is established with fluffy bunnies and happy elves? No, we get it by busting caps of bad guys in ways that would make a lot of naive and misguided people angry. It has been this way since the civil war, on through World War 2, and it will not change today.

  • no shit right.

  • So hundreds of emails from the Bush Jr administration go missing, eh?

Explanation #1: Bush deleted/destroyed them, or ordered someone to do it,

Explanation #2: Obama is hiding them.

    Occam's Razor, guys.

  • geniuses, you failed to mention that the Neumann's (who live in my town) were covered in their actions by state law - this was gone around to sentence them. It should also be noted that abortion is also legal, which results in the death of a baby when "successful". Shouldn't something that has killed 50,000,000 be opposed before the potentially questionable actions that resulted in 1 death?

  • ok this watching two retards on cam whining about emails lol k i'm out

  • Yeah, I really want a Phillies-Angels World Series. The Dodgers and Yanks have been in it like a total of 40 times, and have met each other like 15 times in the Fall Classic.

Phils and Angels have met like 3 times, total in their history, including spring training and interleague.

Padres fans must be thrilled what we did in yesterday's game 3 vs. L.A. :-) but I hope we didn't just use up our offense we are so well-known for....

  • Amen.
