Puthukudiyiruppu West in the hands of the troops

All attempts by the LTTE to protect the Puthukuddiyiruppu final stronghold have become futile in the face of attacks unleashed by the war heroes..

Our Representative Anura Dorakumbura in a report from the Puthukuddiyiruppu Forward Defence Line observed that troops of the 58th Division have consolidated their positions in the entire Puthukuddiyiruppu West area. It had been possible following intense fighting which lasted for three days from last Tuesday. Puthukuddiyiruppu is the last bastion of the LTTE and now they are confined to the East of Puthukudiyiruppu and some other areas. 40 terrorists had been killed in the last four days and the Security Forces had recovered several bodies. Fighting is continuing East of Puthukudiyiruppu and it is believed that the Security Forces will capture the area within a few days..
