Ames rocked. There was one so close to my house that if we ever needed anything real fast we could be like "Oh, let's just run over to Ames and get it." Now it's like "Uhhh, do we have to go all the way to Walmart, a store that isn't even worth going that far to?"

I remember having to wear ames clothes. Not fun as a gut that wanted Levi an Nikes lol. I remember the slutty girls with the ames acid washed jeans and what not lol. We were all poor trash, but at least they had video games and cd's that got me through! I kinda miss that store.

@4starcashier I've heard of both, but only Alco is in my area. To my knowledge, the closest Alco store to Chicago is in Lowell Indiana.

I remember Ames. After WalMart came into my area, all the Ameses went out of business.
