  • Rest in peace Hugues Cuenod (Emperor), who died on Dec. 3rd, 2010, at the age of 108. He was nearly 85 at this performance, his Met debut.

  • 108! Unbelievable! Rest in Peace.

  • I am a 16 year old boy who lives in Atlanta, GA... all of my friends listen to the radio and the day-to-day pop and hip-hop singles that overshadow the world of wonderful operas like Turandot and such talented singers as Pavarotti. But I can say with all of the confidence I have that this is TRULY the most beautiful music in the world!

  • hi! someone knows the lyric of the final part or this scene?

  • awwwww...did some "O"pera hurt you?...poor baby.

  • All operas (with a capital O no less) are fussy...oh pleeeze. You're the perfect illustration of 'particularly vulgar.'

I've seen plenty of non-vegas opera performances, having grown up 40 miles from NYC, starting as a kid at the old, then the current Met, the Paris opera, performances in DC, Chicago, Palermo, Naples, Rome, Venice, Bergamo and Vienna. Don't tell me what 'REAL OPERA' is about. The Met has come to epitomize what is vile & debased in opera today. Trash for morons.

  • Oh pleeeze.....all Operas are fussy. This happens to be one of my favorites (and I work in backstage production). If I wanted to hear a couple of people standing onstage, singing with minimal costumes and sets, I would listen to a recording. THIS IS WHAT REAL OPERA IS ABOUT!!

  • One of my best friends is marching Phantom this summer. I'm so excited to see her and to hear this!!!

  • Thumbs up if this is your pre-pre-view of the Phantom Regiment 2012 show.

  • fussy production more like a vegas show (a particularly vulgar one), that an opera.

  • Oooooo...Phantom playing this...will be awesome.

  • Turandot: a mi Marton Évánk!

  • hi I'm almost 55 years but I can confirm "you are so right"

my son with the age of 13 is already beginning to enjoy this kind of music.
