The entire idea of Pop Art is to put emphasis om ordinary and daily actions like sleeping and eating. It was a reaction to all the abstract movies and paintings like those from Brakhage and Pollock. This isn't shit, the art is in the concept, not in the movie itself. That's what Pop Art is all about.

Genius (ooo I sens hate), don't be so realist. First of all : Look at a man eating. Doesn't it look dull ? Yes, because he does the same reactions but what if you slo-mo it? You can now see all the details. Not so dull after all.

So what you're saying is, if I made a video of myself eating, both of the video would have the same meaning? and you can also make a video about you eating something else, and your video shouldn't be less popular or important then this video that Warhol made, because the fact that he's famous doesn't matter is it?

You are so uncultured. Ordinary things have meaning, and they are important... Eating is important, why should it be barred from being expressed? This is not about Warhol. Warhol is not expressing his inner feelings or anything, it is a meditation of a time and place. Also it is fairly beautiful piece... It is like a painting of a man eating, only the painting is moving.

You can't just film a random event and call it an ''art''..

you're liking this footage because Warhol made it, not because of it's actually ''meaningful'' .

Warhol didn't make "real" movies, just his kind of movies. The early factory films their selves weren't really art, they were more like "concepts" where they played like cultural responses or representations. For example, in response to the many insomniac artists in the early 60s, Warhol made a film all about something they were foreign to, "Sleep". There's no reason to watch the film other than to know its real. It'd be hard to impossible to get away with something like this today.
