Recorded under the name "Mississippi Swampers" (Fahey & Firk) June 15, 1962.

Here's an early recording of Some Summer Day, but with singing as well! John Fahey as we have never heard him before! Apparently the first version was done by Charlie Patton...

  • Clapton really is such a faggot.

  • Hey - don't knock John Fahey - he did more for the blues and roots music genre than probably anyone in the latter half of the 20th century.

  • I don't get it... is he pretending to be a real bluesman?

Patton did Some Summer Day which was the first recording made in the arrangement of Robert Johnson's "Come On In My Kitchen"... this sounds more like a whiney impression of Robert Johnson than Patton

  • @DiamondSoul whatever you say

  • @BlueBlueFeelin

Sure Clapton is great, but Fahey is greater.

  • @mradamcooley tht's true , tht's the fuckin truth

  • why compare clapton and fahey. clapton's amazing.

  • gosh, i take a back seat to nobody as a fahey fanatic, but i'm glad his off-key caterwauling didn't creep into the other 99% of his music!
