@4freespeech the gov't did chase 'em out... there is still and will always be a band in the square... it may be different people, but a band will always be there... i know these guys personally... the trombonist is doing EXTREMELY well, traveling the world, literally, with his band, the Hott 8 Brass Band, and was even on Treme! He had a few bumps in the road, overcame them, and is shining soooo bright!, that it's insane! Success like that should be illegal! :-)

There was a young woman clarinetist who used to play out on Jackson Square who was absolutely incredible ... wonder what she's doin' these days ...
