if they are interested. A lot of people who may never have heard of the original will become curious, and look it up. I was also delighted to find Glee postings of the songs without music, and also the music without Mercedes singing.  So I made my own version. I don't have contact with my old girlfriend who introduced my to the film. But in a way I made my Youtube version for her. If she could see me now And....I use the original lyrics, and I understand the sexual allusions.

The audio gymnastic style so many people think is superior singing. It was as if she was singing in a foreign language and did not know the meanings of the words, or their sexual import. I found some of the other singers and songs an absolute delight. These people can sing and act. The songs had a touch of amateur and emotional impact that made the songs seem like a really good high school performance.  I could live with them changing words to get past the censors. In the end people will ..

they had changed many of the words. Fox is a broadcast channel and they have to be careful that they do not cross the line put down by 'Big Brother' at the FCC. I was truly curious about who they would have as Tim Burton's character. I speculated with others in the room about who was going to play Frankenfurter. I was surprised when they pick Mercedes. But that's an interesting choice. She has a powerful voice. But, I thought she sang the words in the audio gymnastic style so many ....

But, I would tell my girlfriend that the music was not 'rock and roll.' The songs were like Broadway show tunes with some guitar music added to create a thin rock veneer. Tim Burton was great as the 'Doctor.' But most of the singing and music was adequate at best.

I was thrilled to see a new take on the subject. I'd never seen Glee before, and liked the concept. . I found the back up music to be so much better than the original score. Yes, I noticed that they had changed many of...

Thanks for posting your comments. I enjoyed hearing your point of view. I just happened to run into the Glee episode that featured Rocky Horror. Long ago I had a girlfriend who loved the original film version. She would play the music at home day and night, night and day. I did go to see the movie with her and like the interactive 'camp' from the audience. I love old horror films and liked the idea of twisting some elements into a 'rock' opera about crossdressing But, I would tell my girl

I agree with a lot you said. Except one thing. She didn't say "bed fretting". I think she said "bad fretting" which makes a lot more sense... Still I understand you're point about changing lyrics.... But honestly, I don't want to think of the pure little school counselor wetting a seat. Lol. I think they should have just not done it, there was no way they could have made it work either way.
