In my opinion it isn't spam unless it's pornographic, hateful, or in multiples. In any other way, if you leave ONE comment on someone's page or send them ONE message, it's called promotion. And it especially isn't spam if the person who sent the comment is replying back.

Its also the exact same thing as spam mail and I highly doubt you are ok with that.
