Emerald Weapon : No Controller, SC, Counter With Magic ONLY, No Red/Pink Materias, No L7

That was about time !

No Controller : I don't even touch the controller during the fight.
SC (Solo Character) : One character only. I choose Cloud because i had maxed out his magic and spirit.
No Red or Pink Materias : In other words, no summon or independent materias.
No Lucky-7 : Not using the 7777hp trick. One well know trick. Your hero can perform 64 attack at 7777 damages (= 497 728 damage).
Counter With Magic Only : Only counter attack that i can used are magic spells (even if i "mime" somes).
No cheats : No gameshark or cheat device.
Also, no accesories or final weapon but it's pointless to notice that.

I had to speed up a part of the video because of the 10min max lenght video of YouTube :(
Anyway, the part i speeded up was not so much interesting.
When you saw a "counter phase" it's like you saw all of them :p

One counter phase is (in order) :
6 Ultima
6 Cure (lv1)
6 Demi (lv1)
6 Demi (lv1) (again)
6 Ultima (again yes, but those Ultima are mimed from the first Ultima)

On the video, you saw the first counter phase at real speed.
Then the other (2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) and speeded up.
You can notice on the 6th time, that demi start to deal less damage.
The 7th counter phase is at real speed.

It's been a while that i had that idea of "Beating Emerald Weapon without touching the controller".
I clear that maybe 9 month ago.
Recently, some discutions and videos made me try it with Solo Character and some other stuff.

I did a LOT of tries for came up with that strategy.
The 1 000 000 hp, my 999mp only and the freakin' Emerald's Eyes gived me a lot of trouble.
By the way, i used Ultima because of the eyes. But -130mp by turn was killing me...
The materia system is pretty awesome. And so are the counters :)

so does it only use Air Tam Storm or whatever when u have the underwater materia?

@DeadPixel2009 No he can use it whatever materia you have or not.

But it use it only on a specifical time : when the eyes are here and are present for many turns.

This can't happend here because when the eyes came, i take them out immediately.

I would say "yes and no".

The counters materias are one of my favorites (with quadra magic and some others). So i didn't really farm for this challenge because i already farmed some for fun.

Sometimes i farm materia just for try weird things.

So yeah i spent hours farming them, but way before this challenge.

One problem still, is the 200 materia limit in the inventory (you can carry more if you keep some materias on the characters). So i have to be carefull on what i do.

I do love this battle! I am impressed by how you were able to beat Emerald both without the Underwater materia and with merely 999 MP!
