I disagree, although they are flashy, instant kills have always been the ultimate insult. Calamity Trigger Astral Finishes, however, can only be used if an agreement has been made between both players, eliminating the insulting quality. Also, another example where instant kills are used in regular play is Guilty Gear.

Uh, astral finishes are supposed to be useless. Instant kills, fatalities, destruction moves are all for show, dicking around with friends. They're just pretty to look at. About the only game where I've seen them put to actual use is Arcsys' Hokuto No Ken and that game is broken beyond reason. Fun, but broken.

HURRAH!!! Number 2 eh? I can't believe I missed out on getting Blaz Blue... although I kind of ran out of money after Street Fighter IV and King Of Fighters XII XD. Thanks for uploading this trailer man! Kind of inspires me to get the next one :D

I hear ya on that one. Hopfuly they will treat this very well. I don't want this to end up like GGXX altho at the end of XX it was a really good game.
