This video demonstrates a 2D particle system created using DPSF (Dynamic Particle System Framework) for XNA, available from http://www.xnaparticles.com.
The video starts with gravity being enabled and particles being attracted to the user-controlled particle (controlled using the mouse). It then switches to repelling particles rather than attracting. Then it switches back to attracting particles, as well as disabling gravity and enabling friction, so particles slow down until they stop. It then switches to repelling with friction, and then turns off attraction, repulsion, gravity, and friction, allowing the particles to continue to move in whatever direction they are going with no forces acting upon them. Finally, gravity and attraction are re-enabled at the end of the video.
