  • "Looky what we got here?"

Are you using "we" as the royal pronoun. devilsheep is spot-on correct. Even in his choice of label: I spend my money on Naxos CDs, what I have left I spend on clothing and food.

  • @jslasher1 I Know but I Still Like it

  • @Bactaman Sinfonia Tapkaara

  • @brodiger This is not a film soundtrack, but a concert work.

  • Good comments about the influence of Slavic composers on Ifukube. Actually, he studied with Alexander Tcherepnin, a Russian composer who lived in China and Japan between 1935 and 1937.

  • The influence of Prokfiev and Shostakovich on Ifukube reminds me of the influence of Russian novelists on Kurasawa's films.

  • Ifukube was not inspired by the American composer Aaron Copland. He was a penpal, however, of the American pianist George Copeland. Two different people, same last name (albeit spelled differently.)

Ifukube loved Stravinsky. I also hear Prokofiev and Shostakovich in his works. Ifukube's music was certainly very "Slavic" in general.

  • I Know I Like this song it's the best

  • i know its cool
