Doctors and dentists targetted by HMRC! Having extracted information about private payments to medics the UK tax people are about to investigate those who may not have declared everything. They have info from private medical insurers, clinics and NHS trusts. Docotrs and dentists have a one-off chance to declare anything on which they owe tax and pay a reduced penalty. The income or gains might be unrelated to their medical work. They will pay the tax, plus a 10% penalty, plus interest. Watch the video for more info on the 31 March 2010 deadline. Adrian Huston is a tax specialist who helps people declare income and gains to HMRC.
