Islam is the Religon of balance and Realism
yes,we respects all other religons & every one has the right to choose his faith
but this doesn`t mean that we have no right to defend ourselves,this part u mentioned is taking about(Ghazoat Badr)"Badr war" ... when 1000 of infidels came to pluck out all Muslims in Madina,so the Quran encourages all the muslims -whom was only 300- and give them firmness that ALLAH is supporting u ,
Fight those invaders with no fear even u r 300 and they are 1000
