This is truly fantastic! I have only heard Ewa Podles once, in Nice, as Klytemnestra, and it was one of the most amazing things I ever heard in my life. Her voice is so powerful that reduced even the wonderful Elektra to pieces! Oh, and she was so graceful with her colleague when receiving the standing ovation (she pushed her forward). Such a great artist, I think I own by now all her available records! (I even went to visit Warsaw for her!)

Excellent singing, conducting and production - the only Ring I would like to see as it's true to the composer's intention. Well done Seattle!!

This clip along with Astrid Varnay's Kostelnicka are the two single Opera Videos in Youtube I envy for not having them posted them myself.
She is undoubtedly the greatest Erda I have heard - surpasses even Christa's Erda. I really hope Ewa sings more Wagner - Strauss, her Extreme Musicianship can make wonders in this most difficult music

This is terrific. A contralto is needed for the role of Erda. I compared it with the Christa Ludwig recording and this is what Erda should sound like.

> Starring Greer Grimsley in the role of Wotan.
Not much star quality in the little contribution he makes here!
Ewa Podles is amazing. There are no words. I truly love her singing. She is absolutely unique in the world of opera today.
