Kris is the original artist of this song. The reason Janis Joplin also did this song is because Kris dated her from '68 until she died in '70. This song was about her and in her slightly altered version the song is about him. You may wonder why I chose to play an 8 track rip instead of the vinyl. First reason being I already had the 8 track rip on my computer. Second, whoever had the vinyl before me didn't take very good care of it so the 8 track probably sounds better to most in this case. Enjoy

@wildiris1000 Ya, I listened to her version once ( I don't have it in my collection) I did like it, but I'm a little more familiar with the Kirstofferson version. Olivia Newton John kinda did a neat cover to it, I might post it I have it on vinyl and 8 track.
