The programme opens with the essence of Tai Chi Chuan, explaining the fundamental principles of the discipline, including the Yi Ying, Yin and Yang, the Five Elements and the Eight Trigrammes. We then move on to exploring Spiral Movements and the Figure 8.
Spiral movements form the basis of all Tai Chi Chuan movements, which is why the master, Jian Liujun, specifically concentrates on them. The Figure 8 is a short form, which is ideal for learning the essential Tai Chi techniques. It is also one of the forms used in Chen style Tai Chi competitions.
Every exercise is fully explained and illustrated in detail in this film, making it an indispensable tool for learning this reflective Chinese art form. Each chapter includes tips on how to get the best out of this superb interact ve programme, while magnificent and tranquil shots of nature make the film even more enjoyable.
