I can confirm that this statement was made by Daniel Owens the same person who filed the recent spate of DMCAs. This apology is in his own words and I feel it enough for me not to peruse this case any further.
If you have received a DMCA from Daniel recently you should soon find it retracted.
Below is the written statement produced by Daniel:
Dear YouTube Users,
This is Daniel Owens (Formerly known as the youtube user JiLAdren). I am the one responsible for filling DMCA's against various people. I apologise for this, the stress, trouble and anguish which it may have caused both to the users affected and other people who have been concerned by this.
You maybe wondering why I am not making an audio/video apology, well the answer to that is I don't want to risk people abusing my person in anyway, in the same way people did with the video I did on Homosexuality and other videos, so this is why I am communicating in writing.
There has been a misunderstanding regarding YouTube's Guidelines/Terms and Copyright Laws within various countries, which has resulted in this issue.
The reason why I filed the DMCA's originally, almost a year ago, was because I thought I was the Copyright Owner of the videos which I created. I was then told that I had to pay for the videos to be Copyrighted. At that time I didn't really understand much about Copyright nor the YouTube's Guidelines/Terms, and so I lifted the DMCA's, for the sake of wasting time and money.
I checked YouTube regularly from almost a year ago until a few weeks ago, and the videos of me were still there. I couldn't and still can't understand YouTube's Guidelines where it states that we are not allowed to upload videos created by others users, yet we are allowed to in the Terms. I was annoyed that people still had the videos revealing my identity and person, so I decided to do some research on UK Copyright Law, including the Fair Use provission. I also did some research on the YouTube's Guidelines/Terms. I came to the conclusion that I was wrong in filing the DMCA's almost a year ago, which I am sorry for, but according to my understanding of YouTube's Guidelines/Terms, as well as UK Copyright Law, I was right in filing the recent DMCA's on the videos which were uploaded after I left YouTube, but wrong in filing the DMCA's on the videos which were there, when I was on YouTube.
To cut a long story short and to avoid wasting our time and energy, I will not file anymore DMCAs. However, I do ask that users who do have material involving me to please considser removing these videos of me from your YouTube Channel and computer.Failing this could you please consider adding annotations to this matterial linking to this apology and aid me in making a fresh start.
Again I apologise for offending people and hurting their feelings and I ask for forgiveness.
One of the reasons why I left YouTube was because of people who reuploaded videos, involving my personhood (voice/body) in ways I felt inapropriate. If all the videos of me get deleted, I may return to JiLAdren on YouTube, but in a slightly different way to before.
Thank you and God bless,
Daniel Owens
I shall be adding annotations to my videos when possible.

Daniel is a lying sack of shit, the BS DMCA claim against me is still there, I thought he was going to retract all his DMCA claims. Tell him to make this right if he wants to come back to YT in the future otherwise it will be a very rough ride for him
AbdultheImpailler 1 year ago
@AbdultheImpailler I can assure you that he has sent communication to youtube to try and get these removed. However youtube seem to be very slow in responding. Have you filed a counter-notice?

My DMCA claim got removed.

@PreparationH67 That is great news. Was it lifted or was it due to a counter notice?

Mine still hasn't been retracted.

@ScrewLimbBizkit I have received some proof that Daniel is trying to contact youtube to retract the claims. It now seems to be youtube not listening more than anything.
