Zaouli (binary)

This is the (binary) version of Zaouli taught by Mamady. This snippet shows the call and response, and how the entry of the instruments into the groove is staggered.

This snippet is taken from the DVD "Guinée: Les Rhythmes Du Mandeng Volume 4". I highly recommend this DVD--it's is brilliant. Aimed at intermediate to advanced players, it contains instruction with extensive solos and breaks for Abondan, Dibon, Djagbe, Fe 3, Matoto, Soliwulen, Takoworo, Wassolonka, and Zaouli (binary and ternary).
