Some really great goals from some really great England players. Gascoigne against scotland in Euro 96 is probably my favourite, the goal, the celebration, the occasion, it's got it all.

  • @sextonqpr Yeah, I still think he's a great manager, just made a few mistakes in the world cup, it happens, we'll get over it.

  • best england goal without a doubt is John Barnes v Brazil...i love Owens goal v Argentina but its not in the same league

  • @eLIPHAS3333 do you still have the same view on Capello now from this post(i know it was a year ago)?

  • That comment obviously from a Chelsea fan ;)

  • Frank Lampard is a great footballer, so is Ashley Cole. What do people have to do to be considered good in your opinion? You know fuck all about this game - those two could get into any side on the planet, you dim-wit.

  • Beckham is a class player, you fool. I think Fabio Capello knows more than you and he still picks him doesn't he? And he wouldn't still be able to go to Milan if he wasn't good. He has a legendary right boot, why not give him a bit of credit? No ones saying he is Maradona but he was and is a fantastic footballer.

  • The England team that went to the '68 Euro Champs. Finals have been VERY overlooked, IMHO.

  • Barnesy!! Barnesy!! He could just rip the best defenses apart almost single-handedly, couldn't he?

  • Fair comment regarding Gazza. He did take the easy route, but I think he chose Rangers for the drinking culture in Glasgow rather than to play easier football (but maybe both??) Under Butcher, Pearce And Robson, England had their greatest achivement since 1966 in 1990 when they reached the semi final of the world cup - and they were damn close in 1986 too, a dream snatched away by Maradonna's infamous handball.

I honestly don't think we have any real hardmen or fighters left. Shame.

  • what did england win under butcher pearce and robson nothing. not saying gazza wasnt great but he never did the business at a great stage, went to lazio didnt really do anything thn took the easy road to rangers. beckhams proven himself more than gazza
