BTW: This video is from 1998.

The Swedish bit at the start:

From norella18:
"The American singer-songwriter Elliott Smith very tragically comitted suicide at the age of only 34years old. Even though the person Elliott Smith never will return his music remains very much. Judging by all the wishes we have recieved from people in the country about Elliott Smith he is everything else but forgotten here in Sweden."

The song is called 'Waltz #2 (XO)', a single from Elliott's album 'XO'. It's his 4th album and was released in 1998. Read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XO_(album)

As well as about Elliott here:

hopefully this clears up a lot of the questions being asked. Enjoy :)

  • I don't think he knew how good he really was. Probably by far and away, one of the greatest songs ever written!!!

  • I didn't think much of Elliott Smith songs until I listened to this video, but feeling his passion he puts into the song made me understand. Now I listen to his music every day. Thank you for posting this video, I can't image life without experiencing Elliott's work.

  • For me, the thing that separates him is that he really was the anti-star. Some artists try to act anti-star as their shtick, but he truly was the opposite of the prototype rock star. He was shy, didn't really enjoy performing live, I don't think I've ever seen a single interview where he even remotely promoted himself or bragged himself up.

To me, that makes him one of the most authentic music superstars I've ever seen. And I think that's why you see people being drawn to him more and more.

  • about his mom?

  • I REALLY LOVE HIS VOICE.

  • I love you buddy

  • i wish i could hug him

  • I'm crying, right now.

  • Get a fucking life of your own and stop trying to speak for him. He was one of the most talented musicians in the world.

  • only after you have lost everything, are you free to do anything
