The WaveBox is a Microwave lunchbox with a cooler built in - it can be powered anywhere you go, on AC or DC.

  • that thing's awesome. how much was that thing?

  • $199. And it pays for itself in a couple months of cooking.

  • Just purchased a Wavebox. Not impressed at all, way underpowered. Cooked a THAWED burrito for 20 MINUTES, and one end was barely warm, the other, cold. Wouldn't pop popcorn at all (as advertized). Used both the cigarette lighter and the battery as power sources, (again, per advertizement)and neither worked.

  • you bought an invetion? Shit you must be rich by now lol

  • christ yes

  • They gut might be in construction, but not sn electrician. Too bad, he was excited.

  • There was a time when ppl wanted cold beverages, they aimed the airco at it.

For heating food they packed it in aluminum foil and tucked it near the engine.

A household microwave needs about 700W. Say 720W : 12V = 60 Amps. No way a lighter socket provides that kind of juice.

  • Thank you for your honest opinion :) I too think it is a great idea - seems like it just needs a little work... Ta :)

  • I am not from Australia--I'm from the U.S. I was on a waiting list to receive this item for almost two years, but was sorely disappointed when I got it. As I stated in my prior post, the microwave simply did not have enough power to work. I would not recommend it at all. Also it was very difficult to get my money back, although with a lot of persistance, I finally did, Their customer service simply did not respond. The item is a great idea, if only it would work!

  • I was thinking of purchasing one of these for my boyfriend to put in his work ute.

I like the idea of him being able to heat up leftovers for lunch but if it doesn't heat very fast there isn't much point in getting one. Would you not recommend this item?

May I ask if you are from Australia?

  • Hi 925,

I am glad that you did! It is safer and better. Take care!
