Just purchased a Wavebox. Not impressed at all, way underpowered. Cooked a THAWED burrito for 20 MINUTES, and one end was barely warm, the other, cold. Wouldn't pop popcorn at all (as advertized). Used both the cigarette lighter and the battery as power sources, (again, per advertizement)and neither worked.

I was thinking of purchasing one of these for my boyfriend to put in his work ute.
I like the idea of him being able to heat up leftovers for lunch but if it doesn't heat very fast there isn't much point in getting one. Would you not recommend this item?
May I ask if you are from Australia?

I am not from Australia--I'm from the U.S. I was on a waiting list to receive this item for almost two years, but was sorely disappointed when I got it. As I stated in my prior post, the microwave simply did not have enough power to work. I would not recommend it at all. Also it was very difficult to get my money back, although with a lot of persistance, I finally did, Their customer service simply did not respond. The item is a great idea, if only it would work!

Thank you for your honest opinion :) I too think it is a great idea - seems like it just needs a little work... Ta :)

ntmd8or, then why are we living longer? because of improvements in the health systems, technology and awareness of our own health. your statment is truely ignorant because it shows that you do not know what the waves do nor do you seem to care, i mean its as ignorant as me saying "if fastfoods are decreasing our health, then why are we living longer, healtheir lives with each generation? please always try to think first b4 making a comment.

Sorry...I meant, the Pyrex method works better than using any "PLASTIC" containers, dishes or covers. Plastics are only good for storing food in cabinets or frig, but not for heating!

Hi 925,
I am glad that you did! It is safer and better. Take care!

This works best using plastic dishes or plastic covers oer containers. The food heats better and evenly because the paper towel is wet, it creates a steam inside within the food. A friend gave me this tip, and its the best!
