Alaskan Grizzly Bears pass by us within 10-15 feet along Katmai Peninsula fishing for salmon at low tide. They ignore photographers and stay focused on fishing.

  • great video Jim! who did you go with to see the bears? hope to see you soon!

  • Hi Brad,

That was some footage I took on our 2006 Katmai trip that you guided. Sandy Struble was in that group as well as Don and Elsie. Last years photos were good. I will email you some pictures of last years Katmai trip and from the Newfoundland trip we were on (gannets and whales). What is your email address?

Are you guiding on the Natural Habitat tours this year? would like to do Katmai again, especially Hallo Bay.

    Jim

  • We were in the area where Treadwell and his girlfriend died. But we are near the coast where the bears see you and you can see them. They were never aggressive but they were very aware of our presence. They were too busy catching salmon that were plentifull.
