Pretty cool that they were a reality, at least until Emperor Septimus Severus banned women gladiators, he considered it poor taste.

Gladiatrix by Russell Whitfield (Paperback - Mar 18, 2008) - yes its a great book. I praised it with 5/5 stars as did my friend Donna Gillespie (The Light Bearer fame = another great novel featuring a gladiatrix).
Russells work is much appreciated. All hail Lysandra the Spartan.

@LovelyMe93 Well it's only normal..after all average Svedish city is larger, yet cleaner than most of the local cities here...and by the name of the city i'd say it couldbe translate as" Hell's Hill"(could be problematic,if you a zealot;-),don't you think? ;-)...Reminds me abit on a Hellsmouth in Sunnydale(from Buffy the Vampire Slayer)...Maybe i'm mistaking, who knows?;-D As for the elf's i believe that in original it was written as "aelfs"...
