You are spot on about the exhaust. Plumbing bends!!
The engine runs on every second firing stroke ONE five THREE six TWO four. So, 1 3 2. are doing the work, Leaving 4 5 6 to run just as passengers.

Thanks NightFlyyer. It's a work in progress, as are most projects.
I had this idea of a running cutaway engine some time ago, and searched You Tube. The only running cutaway engines I found were Model A.
