AWRT San Antonio Media Mania Olympics 1988(?) KENS-TV, KRRT-TV35

Way back in the heyday of Television, just after color was introduced, or thereabouts, the competing tv stations and radio stations would gather together and, well, compete against one another. Some say for charity, others say just for the hell of it. Most just don't acknowledge it.

One such secret gathering was the simple and yet strangely compelling American Women in Radio and Television's "Media Mania" Olympics. Not really an Official Olympic event, nor sanctioned by any Olympic Committee, it was however put together by some means and the various tv and radio peoples would climb out of their darkened work-holes and actively band together to stage what some humanitarians would call, Savage and Barbaric Games of Seemingly Strange Behavior of Irreverent Competition. For Charity.

Captured secretly on video, edited on linear machines (because non-linear wasn't around way back then-horrors!) these "games" reflect the deep depravity of local media. Not captured were the supposed sacrifices and ritualistic deeds of daring-do that these media folk do. Daringly.

For those weak-of-heart and of squeamish deportment, please, please turn, turn, turn away. For those made of sterner stuff - just were do you get that sterner stuff? I've been looking everywhere, in stores, the internet, even... well.. *ahem*... I got off track it seems.
