  • The most difficult thing was making the decision to go - one that we did NOT regret. Spare parts were not a problem as my 1150GS was fairly new and did not break down. Borders are pretty straightforward if you are prepared and patient. One of the easiest borders was traveling from the USA into Mexico - we sailed through with no stops - rather different if you're going in the opposite direction!

  • What did you do when you came back?

  • Well that's another story! It was difficult to readjust to a 'Western Lifestyle' after all our experiences. But we are all the better for travels. One the main motivations for our adventure was the loss of our daughter. I have produced an eBook outlining our journey.

  • at 2:22 is that borat behind the bike??

  • Unfortunately its not - which is a shame as he would of been fun to spend time with!

This was outside a hotel in Istanbul.....

  • How did you plan your route?

Did you ever run out of gas in the middle of Tibet somewhere?

  • We planned to follow the old 'hippy' route from the UK to India.

From there we need to get to South East Asia. Myanma (Burma) does not allow overland travel through their country - so we flew with bike from Nepal to Thailand. From Malaysia we then shipped the bike to Canada to continue the last leg of our journey to South America.

  • This is EPIC!

  • about how much did this cost you to do??? (excluding buying the bike, just petrol food and other expenses?)

  • if you dont mind me asking how much did this all cost??

  • What was the most difficult thing about the trip? getting spare parts? getting through borders?

  • Dude if u sold your house where did you live now?

  • If you given name and tital inspite of it is avery good

  • how did you do this, i would love to know in detail, because i want to do it. :)

  • Oh man I did this with my best friend about two years ago. We're from Ireland and never really had any big holidays so we decided the two of us would have the ultimate holiday cycling around the world. After a year we finally got back our families and we wept for hours. Seeing the beauty of the world and all it has to offer, it came back down to us realizing that there is no place lie home.

By the looks of it, yo guys really went for it and enjoyed yourselves.
